Mario’s Memorial Weekend at AT&T Park: “Take Me Out to the Ball Game”
Sunday was a picture-perfect day in San Francisco for a baseball game, especially with the San Francisco Giants playing against my home team, the Minnesota Twins. We love taking Mario to a few games each year, and Memorial Weekend felt like the perfect time to enjoy America’s favorite pastime.
Not only was the weather beautiful, but the Giants dominated the Twins with an 8-1 victory. Mario is at such a fun age, and he’s really starting to enjoy everything AT&T Park offers kids. Highlights include the four slides inside the 80-foot wooden Coca-Cola contour bottle, the chance to explore the world’s largest baseball glove, and the opportunity to run the bases in “Little Giants Park.”
AT&T Park also hosts a fantastic program called “Kids Run the Bases” during Sunday home games. Fifteen minutes after the final out, kids and their chaperones get to step onto the field and run from first base to home plate—a thrill for any young fan.
Mario’s favorite attraction, however, is the retired San Francisco cable car (car #4, formerly #504) located in right-center field. He loves ringing the bell and watching the game from inside the cable car!
With so much to do at AT&T Park, it’s amazing we managed to catch any of the game at all!
